Renault Gearing Up For Its First Mass-Market Launch - Pulse In India

Renault will be entering the mass-market segment with its first grim assault, the Pulse hatch that was screened over the weekend to the mass media at an event on the side line of the Indian F1 GP.

Grounded on the V-platform that also reinforces the Micra hatch and Sunny saloon, the Pulse is alike the Micra, having almost similar body work and panels of both cars. The key dissimilarities are to the nose where we find a matt black grille, a dog-bar and the prominent Renault logo which make up the alterations. Rear end catches a somewhat swotted tail lamp assembly, bumper and the related logos.

Firing the Pulse is the 1.5-litre dCi diesel motor that is also offered on the Micra and Mahindra Verito (previously Mahindra Renault Logan). The K9K motor is anticipated to create 65 bhp and identical the Micra will harp on its driveability and fuel efficiency. A petrol motor will not be offered for now, but if decided to be offered in future, will be fired with the 1.2-litre, 80 bhp Micra motor.

On the inner side of the Pulse, the modifications are near to nothing, apart from the standard bundle of logos. Even the paint combinations, trims are alike. Alloy-wheels will be presented on the Pulse if we are to drive by what we saw, roughly that is not presently open on the Micra.

Anticipate pricing to be a little more superior than the Micra for the mid and top-end alternates, while a further basic alternative, starting under Rs 5.5 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai can be projected. Largely, the Pulse could sort in the expanse of Rs 5.3-6.4 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. An official lift-off will take place in January 2012 at the New Delhi Auto Expo.

The Pulse is the first of two produces to be built on the V-platform. The Sunny will also be the foundation of Renault's C-segment sedan and is probable to be badged the Logan after it lands in India in the second-half of 2012. The Logan name-plate is still a possession of Renault-Dacia and assumed how widespread and well-established the Logan product is, it would simply be practical for Renault to fetch it back. Renault's design workspace in Mumbai, in control for the Pulse might also be offered over the mission of the Renault-badged Sunny.
