Fujitsu's "K" Declared As World's Fastest SuperComputer Is Now Even More Faster

Japan grabbed the top promotion from China earlier in June and acquired the status to hold world’s fastest supercomputer, when the International Supercomputing Conference whispered “K”, a supercomputer created by Fujitsu, is outdoing China’s Tianhe-1A. In August, Government of Japan whispered they are all set to drive additional US$1.3 billion into supercomputer improvement, and in the present day, K is quicker than ever.

As declared by Fujitsu, K is currently the only computer across worldwide having the ability to handle over 10 quadrillion calculations per second, or 10 petaflops. To be further solid, K’s 88,128 CPUs (ordered over 864 racks) ran uninterruptedly for pretty much 30 hours, accomplishing a performance of 10.51 petaflops (previous benchmark was 8.162 petaflops which was reported in June).

As per Fujitsu and its other maker, RIKEN ( Japanese government organization ), this performance interprets to an performance potency of 93.2%, a number that’s more than that of other supercomputers ( previous benchmark was 93.0% which was last recorded in June ).

K is projected to assist the govt. foretell earthquakes and other natural catastrophes, evaluate climate change, develop new medicine, discover outer space, etc. Fujitsu and Riken are arranging to put “K” in action in November 2012.
